DNA testing for health, appearance and pedigree verification in horses

Learn about one of the tests we do: Champagne

Champagne coat colours include golden champagne, amber champagne, and classic champagne. Champagne colours come about when your horse or pony inherits either one or two copies of the champagne gene. Golden champagne is champagne combined with the basic chestnut coat colour, amber champagne is based on bay/brown and classic champagne is based on black.

Champagne horses and ponies are born with blue eyes that mature to a green, hazel, or golden colour.

Coat colours caused by the chamapgne gene are beautiful and highly desirable. Genetic testing can tell you how many copies your horse or pony carries.
